Boeing Boeing

2013  |  Mesa Community College

Directed by Kevin Dressler  |  Costumes by Adrian Salas | Lighting by Beth Cross  | Sound by Zachary Bemur

In 1960s Paris,  bachelor Bernard is secretly engaged to three attractive stewardesses at the same time, without them knowing about each other. Bernard's life gets bumpy when his friend Robert comes to stay, and a new, speedier Boeing jet disrupts his careful planning. Soon all three stewardesses are in the city simultaneously, timid Robert forgets which lies to tell to whom, and catastrophe looms.

The director likened the action of this farce to a "pie-eating contest," with lots of color and fun opportunities for farcical humor. I leaned in heavily on the midcentury modern style in vogue in France and America in the 1960s.
