Earth to Ned
2019 | Designed by Darcy Prevost | The Jim Henson Company
From the Jim Henson Company comes a late-night talk show hosted by alien commander Ned and his lieutenant Cornelius, who call off their invasion of Earth after they fall in love with human culture. Broadcasting from the bridge of their spaceship, hidden deep underground, Ned and Cornelius interview Earth’s greatest resource, celebrities. With the help of the ship’s artificial intelligence, BETI, and the destructive CLODS, Ned must keep his show a secret from his home planet or suffer the wrath of the Admiral of the Galactic Fleet.
I worked as a production assistant for the art department under production designer Darcy Prevost. For the first half of production I was primarily responsible with assisting in adding color, light, and texture to the various concept models that Darcy created.
Once final colors were approved, I was also responsible for executing the paint elevations, once again painting on top of either sculpted models or technical drawings.
Once shooting began, I was responsible for making purchase runs, refining set details from Darcy's initial sketches to technical drawings, and as an additional set of hands to assist with some of the weirder set dressing needs.
